SOS Children's Village, Bethlehem

Today my friends, Mahmoud, his brother Mustafa and I went to the SOS Children’s Village in Bethlehem to take and share some falafel sandwiches and orange juice with the children. The village is a beautiful facility looking after children who have found themselves in difficult situations. A very good morning chatting about football. Barcelona and Real Madrid. Many smiles.

‘SOS Children's Villages works with children and families in the Palestinian territories. SOS Kindergartens provide day care for young local children while their parents go to work or attend training, and older children can attend the SOS Hermann Gmeiner Schools.

The SOS Social Centre in Bethlehem works closely with the local community to ensure that children do not lose parental care. When children can no longer stay with their families, they are cared for by their SOS mothers in one of the SOS families. Young adults can live in special flats where they are guided on their path to an independent life with the help of professionals’.
